ABSTRACT: Graphosoma italicum, is an aposematic species associated with Apiaceae. During field surveys conducted in Arapkir (Malatya Province, Eastern Anatolia), 130 adults of G. italicum were recorded on Smyrnium cordifolium Boissier, 1846, a rare and localized medicinal Apiacea. This is the first documented interaction between G. italicum and S. cordifolium.

DOI
AbstractPDF

ABSTRACT: Irochrotus maculiventris (Germar, 1839) is a rare species of Mediterranean origin with a limited distribution in Türkiye. This study presents a new record of the species’ distribution in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The specimens examined were collected in 2015 from an area with herbaceous and shrubby vegetation in Sarıçiçek Village, Center district, Bingöl province, using a sweeping net method. The locality where the species was identified has an altitude of 1117 m, similar to the altitude values previously reported for Elazığ province. The data obtained constitute the second record of I. maculiventris in Eastern Anatolia and expand the known distribution area of the species in Türkiye. This new record updates information on the ecological tolerance and regional distribution dynamics of the species, and also contributes to revealing the faunistic richness of the Eastern Anatolian ecosystems.

ABSTRACT: Stephanitis lauri Rietschel, 2014 was identified in September 2025 on infested Mediterranean laurel (Laurus nobilis L.) near Kassandreia town on the Halkidiki Peninsula, and representing the second record of the species on the Greek mainland. The first record from the Greek mainland was recently reported from Xanthi. This study also provides an overview of the distribution of the genus Stephanitis in the Palaearctic Region.

Suludere, Z., Aydın, S., Kıyak, S., 2026, Leg Sensilla of Ilyocoris cimicoides (Heteroptera: Naucoridae): A SEM Study with Notes on Mouthpart Morphology, J.Het.Turk., 8(1): 23-37
DOI
AbstractPDF

ABSTRACT: In this study, the types and morphological characteristics of sensilla located on the legs of Ilyocoris cimicoides (Linnaeus, 1758) were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The main objective of the study was to reveal the structural diversity of leg sensilla and their distribution across different segments. Different sensilla types, including sensilla trichodea (ST), sensilla chaetica (SCh), sensilla coeloconica (SCo), and sensilla placodea multilobata (SPM), were identified. Sensilla trichodea was found to occur in two distinct morphological subtypes. It is suggested that the sensilla are generally mechanoreceptive, while some types may also be involved in the perception of chemical and environmental stimuli. The findings provide important data on the diversity and distribution of sensilla in I. cimicoides, suggesting that these structures may be associated with the sensory adaptations of the species.

Per, E., 2026, Scientometric Analysis of Halyomorpha halys (Stål, 1855) Research in Türkiye, J.Het.Turk., 8(1): 38-53
DOI
AbstractPDF

ABSTRACT: Halyomorpha halys (Stål, 1855) is a widespread invasive alien species on a global scale because of its broad geographic distribution, high dispersal capacity, and ability to cause economic damage to a wide range of agricultural crops. The species was initially documented in Istanbul, Türkiye in 2017 and has since expanded its distribution, particularly in the Black Sea Region. This study employed a scientometric approach to examine the temporal development, database distribution, and thematic orientation of the academic literature on Halyomorpha halys in Türkiye. Records retrieved from the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education, DergiPark, Web of Science, and other indexes were systematically reviewed, duplicates were removed, and analyses were conducted using unique records only. The final dataset consisted of 75 studies, including 58 articles and 17 graduate theses. The findings showed that the literature is not limited to internationally indexed publications, but instead reflects a multi-layered structure supported by national journals, theses, and other indexed outputs. The temporal distribution revealed a marked acceleration in research production after 2023, indicating that this body of literature is evolving into a more established field of inquiry. The thematic analysis showed that the literature initially concentrated on first records, distribution, and status assessments, but later expanded toward more explanatory topics, including biological control, natural enemies, damage analysis, basic biology, physiology, and genetics. Taken together, the findings indicate that the Turkish literature on H. halys has moved beyond the early stage of invasive alien species reporting and has developed into a multidimensional research field shaped by applied ecology, biological control, and mechanism-oriented studies.

AbstractPDF

ABSTRACT: In this study, 63 species belonging to 15 families of the Heteroptera suborder were identified as a result of field studies conducted in 26 localities in Bulancak District of Giresun Province in August 2025. Of these, 7 species are new records for the Black Sea Region, 8 species for the Eastern Black Sea Region, and 24 species for Giresun Province. Among these species, Stenodema holsata, Stephanitis caucasica, and Paraparomius leptopoides (Baerensprung, 1859) are known to be rarely recorded in Türkiye.

AbstractPDF

ABSTRACT: The present study was conducted to determine the Pentatomomorpha (Heteroptera) species associated with naturally growing herbaceous plants in the Karacadağ area located within Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa provinces. Field surveys were carried out during 2021 using visual inspection and sweep net sampling methods in different localities situated on the slopes of Karacadağ. As a result of the study, 23 species belonging to the families Coreidae, Rhopalidae, Heterogastridae, Lygaeidae, Oxycarenidae, Rhyparochromidae, Pentatomidae, and Scutelleridae were identified. Among the recorded species, Dolycoris baccarum, Aelia acuminata, and Eurygaster integriceps were found to be widespread and abundant in the study area. In addition, Heterogaster urticae was recorded for the first time from Şanlıurfa Province, whereas Eurygaster testudinaria and Odontotarsus purpureolineatus were determined as first records for both Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa provinces.
