{"id":536,"date":"2019-09-08T19:27:15","date_gmt":"2019-09-08T16:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.j-ht.org\/register\/?page_id=536"},"modified":"2024-09-16T18:54:42","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T15:54:42","slug":"author-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.j-ht.org\/?page_id=536","title":{"rendered":"Author guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Thank\nyou for choosing to submit your paper to the Journal of the Heteroptera of\nTurkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation of Manuscript<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All manuscripts should be written in the Turkish or\nEnglish languages \u200b\u200bto be published only in the Journal of the Heteroptera and should be prepared with Microsoft Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuscripts should be written on\nA4 (21 cm x 29.7 cm) paper with margins of at least 2 cm in width.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All pages should be numbered\nconsecutively. Manuscripts should be organized in the following order: Title,\nabstract, brief introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments,\nreferences, tables and figure legends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Parts of the Manuscript\nshould be:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrange manuscripts in this order:\ntitle; name(s), address(es) and e-mail address(es) of the corresponding author(s)\nwho will receive and approve the page proofs (research articles only); keywords;\ntext; acknowledgments; references; tables and figure legends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> The title of the\nmanuscript should be informative and clear, not exceed 15-20 words. Just under the title full name(s) of author(s);\n(surname(s) in capital letters; full address(es); e-mail address(es); if\navailable, ORCID numbers for all authors, Corresponding Author contact\ninformation should be give (each on a separate line).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong> The abstract\nshould not exceed 250-300 words (maximum), should be one paragraph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> For subject\nindexing, up to 6 topical keywords in English are required (for Turkish\narticles).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Text:<\/strong> Introduction,\nMaterials and Methods, Results, Conclusion and Discussion, Acknowledgments,\nReferences, Figure and table legends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use italics<\/strong> for\nScientific names of genera, species, and subspecific taxa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do\nnot use italics for abbreviations such as \u201cspp.\u201d, \u201csp.\u201d, &nbsp;\u201cssp.\u201d, \u201dvar.\u201d, \u201dgen.nov.\u201d, \u201csp.n.\u201d,\n\u201cssp.nov.\u201d, \u201cstat.n.\u201d, \u201ccomb.n.\u201d, \u201cs.l.\u201d, \u201cs. str.\u201d,\n\u201cet al.\u201d, and names of taxa of rank higher than genus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For\nfaunistic research follow this order: Taxon name, Material examined, Habitat,\nHost plant(s), Distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miridae Hahn,\n1831 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Deraeocoris rutilus<\/em>\n(Herrich-Schaeffer, 1838) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Habitat: The\nspecimens belonging to <em>D. rutilus<\/em> (H.,-S.,\n1838) were found on <em>Carduus pycnocephalus\n<\/em>subsp.<em> albidus<\/em> (Bieb) Kazmi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Materials\nexamined: 1 male, 24.6.1996 (Loc. 1), 1 female, 24.6.1996 (Loc.6). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Distribution\nin Turkey: The Aegean, the Marmara, and the Anatolia regions (18,10,8,13,29). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Distribution\nin the world: Israel, Sardinia, Syria, Cyprus, Poland, the Balkans, Russia, and\nTurkey (18,25).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>References<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>References\nshould be prepared according to \u201c<em>The\nGuidelines to Authors<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ncomplete reference list should appear alphabetically by name at the end of the\npaper. A sample of the most common entries in reference lists appears below.\nPlease note that a DOI should be provided for all references where available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>References\nmust be cited in the text as (Dursun, 2013), Fent &amp; Dursun (2005) or Fent\net al. If the photographer or copyright holder is not an author on\nthe paper, then permission must be granted by the copyright holder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tables should be numbered\nconsecutively and include headings and explanations. References in the text to\nillustrations (schematic, photographs) and tables into parenthesis: e.g.(Fig.1)\n(Figs.1\u20134) (Table 1.) (Table 1., Figs.1-4).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Taxonomic papers in&nbsp;<em>JHT&nbsp; <\/em>must follow the <em>requirements below:<\/em><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow all requirements of the current\n<em>International Code of Zoological\nNomenclature<\/em> (4th\nedition 1999), and be followed the recommendations of\nthe Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A holotype should always be designated for each newly described\nspecies-level taxon and at least holotypes should be deposited in public\ncollections that provide long-term care and access for study (note that such\ndeposition is mandatory for neotypes). For this reason, two particular\nrecommendations (73A and 16C) should be observed in JHT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Abstract must be listed new combinations, new status, new\ntaxa, new synonyms, etc. in. The list of synonymized names must indicate their\ndisposition. For newly should be described taxa included for all newly\nsynonymized or combined names. Use \u201csp. n.\u201d, \u201cgen. n.\u201d etc.. <strong>Important note:<\/strong> Descriptions\nbased on single specimens are discouraged.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The standard order of sections for description a species is:\n\u201cDiagnosis\u201d, \u201cDescription\u201d, \u201cMaterial\u201d, \u201cType locality\u201d, \u201cEtymology\u201d,\n\u201cDistribution\u201d, \u201cBiology\u201d, and other comments if appropriate. Author(s) of\nspecies name must be provided when the scientific name of any animal species is\nfirst mentioned.
