ABSTRACT: In this study, during a field observation conducted on June 29, 2025, in the rural area of \u015eahapl\u0131 Village, Baskil District, Elaz\u0131\u011f Province, a predatory feeding behavior of Rhynocoris iracundus, a species from the Reduviidae family, on an individual of Carpocoris pudicus, from the Pentatomidae family, was directly observed and photographed. Although both species are commonly found in the Palearctic region, this observed predator-prey interaction is documented for the first time in the Elaz\u0131\u011f province. The observation provides important data that may be evaluated in terms of biological control and ecological balance.\n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: During the summer of 2025, an outbreak of the stink bug Sciocoris atifi Lodos & \u00d6nder, 1982 was documented for the first time in Elaz\u0131\u011f Province, Eastern Anatolia. Field surveys conducted in Temur village revealed a dense infestation in a 20-decare field dominated by wild lettuce (Lactuca serriola L.). A total of 420 specimens were collected and sexed, consisting of 250 females and 170 males. Both adults and nymphs were observed in large aggregations on the stems, leaves, and developing seeds of wild lettuce, as well as clustering on the soil surface. The infestation extended beyond the field, spreading into neighboring vegetable plantations, orchards, and even along house walls, where both immature stages and adults formed dense colonies. Despite the outbreak reaching levels of 20\u201330 individuals per m\u00b2, no significant damage was observed on cultivated plants. The affected field had been left fallow after wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivation in the previous year, which may have provided favorable conditions for population buildup. To date, S. atifi has been reported on Poaceae, Lamiaceae, Hypericaceae, Vitaceae and weeds; however, this study provides the first host plant record of the species on Lactuca serriola and the first outbreak record in T\u00fcrkiye. These findings expand the known ecological range of S. atifi and highlight its potential to adapt to novel weed hosts under suitable environmental conditions. Although not traditionally regarded as a major pest, the species\u2019 ability to reach outbreak densities and disperse into anthropogenic habitats suggests it may pose an underappreciated risk for local agroecosystems. Continuous monitoring and further ecological studies are recommended to clarify its pest status and to develop potential management strategies. \n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: Vilpianus galii (Wolff, 1802) is a rare species of Pentatomidae with a \nfragmented distribution extending across the Mediterranean\u2013Asian belt, including \nseveral regions of T\u00fcrkiye. While reported as polyphagous, its confirmed host plants \nhave been primarily limited to Galium verum (Rubiaceae). In this study, Hypericum \ntriquetrifolium (Hypericaceae) is recorded for the first time as a plant associated with \nV. galii, based on specimens collected from Elaz\u0131\u011f Province, T\u00fcrkiye. This record \nalso constitutes the second faunistic report of the species from Elaz\u0131\u011f. No other \nPentatomidae species have been previously documented feeding on or using H. \ntriquetrifolium, and the only known phytophagous insect associated with this plant \nis the leaf-mining moth Ectoedemia deschkai (Nepticulidae). The observation of V. \ngalii on this plant expands the list of known plant associations and provides new \ninsights into the species\u2019 feeding ecology. Given the rarity of the species in T\u00fcrkiye \nand the limited documentation of insect\u2013plant associations involving H. triquetri\ufffefolium, this finding underscores the importance of continued faunistic surveys and \nstudies of insect\u2013plant relationships in the Mediterranean region. \n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: This study was conducted to identify the aquatic and semi-aquatic heteroptera fauna of K\u0131z\u0131l Lake, a natural lake in T\u00fcrkiye, and to provide information about the habitats of these aquatic insects by determining their current water quality. For this aim, samplings in water and sediment were done in the August of 2025\u00a0\u00a0. Some physicochemical parameters (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and electrical conductivity) of water were measured simultaneously with collection of insect samples. A total of 10 aquatic\/semi-aquatic Heteropteran species were identified in the research area. The species Gerris lacustris (Linnaeus, 1758) and Sigara nigrolineata (Fieber, 1848) were recorded first time in Kayseri Province. Also, according the measured physicochemical parameters, water quality level was evaluated. \n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: Water sources not only provide habitat for aquatic insects but also indirectly provide them with prey and other nutrients. Aquatic heteroptera, a significant group of aquatic insects, not only live in water but also play a significant role in the food chain. Also, considering the current state of water, it is known that water resources are quite limited and are dwindling daily. Therefore, it is necessary to determine and protect the quality of existing water resources. In this study, five localities in \u00c7ubuk Stream (Ankara) where under pressure of industrial and anthropogenic pollutants were identified and examined for aquatic\/semi-aquatic heteroptera fauna and some environmental variables which effective on their distirbution. Samplings was made between April and September\u00a0\u00a0 (monthly periods) at year 2025, when the seasons have aquatic heteroptera abundance is high. Some physicochemical features (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and electrical conductivity) were measured at the same time the insect sampling. A total of ten aquatic\/semi-aquatic heteropteran species were determined in the sampling locations. Also, it was determined that the dissolved oxygen level in \u00c7ubuk Stream was found at a critical level for aquatic organisms. But, it was thought the all observed heteroptera species have higher ecological tolerances. \n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: As a result of the evaluation of Miridae samples collected from Amasya Pro\ufffevince in 2021 and 2022, 19 species belonging to 10 genera from 4 subfamilies were identi\ufffefied. 3 species of Bryocorinae, 5 species of Deraeocorinae, 4 species of Orthotylinae and 7 species of Phylinae subfamilies were recorded. Of those, 18 species are new records for the Amasya province. The first exact locality record for Deraeocoris punctum (Rambur, 1839) was given in this study, and this finding confirmed the presence of the species in T\u00fcrkiye and its distribution in Asia. Halticus pusillus and Orthotylus moncreaffi are recorded for the first time \nin the Black Sea Region of T\u00fcrkiye. Dicyphus hyalinipennis, Deraeocoris punctulatus, Halticus luteicollis, Campylomma verbasci, Orthonotus rufifrons, Plagiognathus chrysanthemi, Plagiognathus fulvipennis and Psallus varians were determined as new records for the Miridae fauna of the Central Black Sea Region. In addition to the Distributions of the Miridae species in T\u00fcrkiye and in the Palearctic region, their chorotypes were also determined. According to the chorotypes analysis, the species of the Bryocorinae, Deraeocorinae, Ortho\ufffetylinae and Phylinae subfamilies from Amasya are divided into 7 categories: as Holoarctic (31,57%), Turano-European (26,32 %), Europeo-Mediterranean (10,53 %), Mediterranean (10,53 %), West Palearctic (10,53 %), European (5,26 %) and Palearctic (5,26 %). \n<\/div>\n
