ABSTRACT: Fast flight and emission of pungent and foul scent fluid by meta thoracic scent gland, and secretion of excretory fluid are the dominant self-defensive means in species of Heteroptera. In addition, camouflage is also seen as a protective defense in some heteroptera species such as Mustha spinosula (Lefebvre, 1831).\nIn this study, on the camouflage behavior and protective coloration (Camouflage) of Mustha spinosula (Lefebvre, 1831) is focused.\n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: This study is based on 430 Pentatomidae materials collected from \u00c7ank\u0131r\u0131 in T\u00fcrkiye between 2013-2014. In this study, 30 species\/subspecies were determined. After 76 years, a new locality record of Antheminia varicornis (Jakovlev, 1874) is given from T\u00fcrkiye. The study includes information about the distribution data of Pentatomid species and newly recorded species of \u00c7ank\u0131r\u0131 province given. With this study, additional distribution information was provided to the Turkish Pentatomidae fauna.\r\n<\/div>\n

This research has been conducted to determine the effect of three different carbon dioxide (CO2) applications on the egg hatch ratio and hatching times of brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (St\u00e5l, 1855), (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae). In the study, doses of 600 and 670 ppm of CO2 were applied to newly laid eggs, and the hatching ratios of eggs left in this environment for 24 hours were compared statistically. According to the results of the study, at the highest dose of 670 ppm, yellowing and then darkening were observed in the eggs, and at doses of 600 ppm, more yellowing color change was observed. It was determined that 234 eggs out of 261 eggs were opened in the control applications, 218 eggs out of 261 eggs opened in the 600 ppm dose application, and 188 eggs out of 260 eggs opened in the 670 ppm application… (For the continuation of the abstract, see the article)\r\n<\/div>\n

ABSTRACT: In this study, the morphology and histology of the gastric caecum and pylorus of Halyomorpha halys (St\u00e5l, 1855) (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Pentatomidae) was examined with stereomicroscopic, light microscopic, and scanning electron microscopic (SEM) techiques. H. halys is a polyphagous species that feeds mainly on plants of the Rosaceae and Fabaceae families and agricultural areas and can cause massive damages on them. The digestive tract of H. halys is divided into three different regions. The gastric caecum of H. halys is revealed in the posterior end of the second region called midgut, while the pylorus is the first region of the hindgut. When the gastric caecum and pylorus of H. halys were compared to the other species belonging to order Hemiptera and other insect groups, it can be easily stated that their structure are generally close to many species belonging to this order.\r\n<\/div>\n
